PERSONAL HISTORY AND INFO: Sablequill was the fourth cub born to half-wolf parents out in an unnamed forest. His only contact has been with his brothers and parents, never knowing other elves existed or that females weren’t always fur covered with tails until his arrival at Ocean Dreams. From early in his youth, Sablequill was looked upon as a sort of “alpha male” of his brother group. It was during a fire that the brothers were separated from the rest of their family. Since the forest had suffered such devastation, they family agreed to wander to find a better place and eventually meet up again later. Sablequill is very silent and observes, rarely directly involving himself with others except his brothers. He is acutely aware of the subtlest of gestures, body postures, movements, and vocal tones and can usually understand someone even if he doesn’t understand the language being used. Unintimidated, he will stand his ground if challenged and carefully observe. He is cautious, however, and will not run into situations blindly. Absolutely fearless in combat and fights tirelessly with speed and grace. Lets his brothers charge toward the unknown, watching closely for any and all information for future reference. Extremely curious and seeks to understand, though with a cautious approach. Communicates in “wolfish” sends – images, emotions, perhaps a word or two to emphasize the meaning. Knows very few elfin words, and even those are greatly slurred with a pronounced accent. He finds it difficult to speak so tries to avoid verbal communication. Will be the first of the brothers to grasp the elfin language and master it. Currently tends to growl, snarl, and yip. Is still unsure of other elves and is slightly suspicious and wary of them. Once he gets to know others, he can relax and sit in their company, though this will take some time and close observation. Eventually learns what females can do with regards to companionship, but still can’t quite make sense of it. Gives his assurance it’s okay when Rivereagle Recognizes first. Very serious and protective of his family, and looks forward to the experience of being what the elves call an “uncle.” Sablequill’s thinness adds to his height, much of which are his limbs, but his strength is easily underestimated – he has relied on his bare hands for hunting and fighting most of his life. Received his jewelry from his parents as gifts – only recently learning shiny things can be sharp. Overly fond of shiny bladed things from the moment he took one from a troll he had killed just prior to arriving in Ocean Dreams. Learning new skills, catches on quite quickly by mostly observing but will welcome teaching if he trusts one. Enthusiastic, but has a very jaded exterior so you’d only know it by watching him work ceaselessly to improve his technique. Dislikes crowds and stays on the fringes. Usually acts appropriately in situations, knowing when to fight and when to accept (he’s still working on being friendly). Would be confused by a sexually aggressive female. Nocturnal. Introduced to dreamberries soon after arrival and infrequently indulges in their consumption.
