Please read this before using one of the Non-Player Characters (NPC's)!
Description: A NPC is a character that can be controlled by anyone. As such, the guidelines for creating a NPC are much looser than the guidelines for any type of primary character. All that is required for a non-player character is a name, species, and short description of who they are.
NPC's don't belong to any member, only to the forum. But as you know we do have some guidelines for using them!
1. Only moderators can post NPC's.
If you have a good idea for a NPC please contact me or one of the moderators (mods) to develope one. Credits will go to the one who created it, if you want. We do want to stay true ElfQuest, please keep that in mind!
You can create adoptables, which can be used as NPC's untill they are adopted. (CIS will be available soon!!)
2. NPC's are not active characters.
You can only play NPC's when it adds to your story. You can't make a NPC and create a RP around him/her/it. It is possible however that they can forfill a keyrole in a RP.
3. Permissions to use a NPC.
Only members (global account) can play NPC's, that is the setting we made.
When you want to play a NPC, post the name of your global account under the CIS and your name will be added to the list.
It isn't possible for a NPC to be in 2 rp's at the same time. We are a real-time forum, so no character can be played in 2 rp's at the same time. Please ask if someone is already using the NPC.
4. Play other members characters.
If you are going to be absent for some time, it is possible to let others play your characters. The admin can create temporary characters with the names of your characters and give permission to who you want. Please contact the admin for this.
5. Use NPC's in Stories or Art
You can always add NPC's in stories and art, look at the CIS to see how they look and, if added, what their personality is.
I think that is it (for now). If someone want to add something, please let me know.
