The Oceans Edge Timeline

0000_ Palace crashes on the alien world of Two Moons. Barbaric humans greet them with anger and fear. Many of the newcomers are slaughtered, those that survive scatter.
0005_ Four High Ones, one injured, return to the area of the palace and hide in a small cave. The injured High One tries to return to the palace and is killed by the humans.
0010_ The remaining three High Ones begin to wander.
0155_ Ten other High Ones, along with a small group of other elves, several trolls, and a preserver encounter the three wandering High Ones. Barlok, one of the High Ones, takes leadership of the small group. Barlok recognizes the High One Venta.
0157_ Tidas, son of Barlok and Venta, is born. 0160_ A young Tidas discovers One-Wing, an injured preserver, in the forest.
0170_ The small group roams for a few centuries before they finally settle in a wooded forest near the foothills of snow covered mountains. The small band of elves, lead by Barlok become known as the Treebenders. (The next 2,000 years or more is a peaceful time the Treebenders. Many recognitions, births, life/lifematings and wanderings take place) ("Conclave" Issue #14) takes place.

5230_ Secha is struck by a strange sickness and dies.
5340_ The Treebenders settle near a great lake located near the foothills of canyon mountains. Several Recognitions and births occur during this time.

6000_ The wanderers Temon and Sebree encounter Raven and his group after surviving a total massacre of their Holt.
6250_ Eight wanderers join the Treebender tribe.

7150_ Raven and his group follow the high backs as they migrate to the vast grassland.
7153_ Raven is thrown from the back of the largest high back ever encountered and is injured. Tidas discovers the injured Raven and takes him back to the lake dwelling to be healed. Later, Raven tells Tidas that he should have let him die, which leaves Tidas puzzled. Raven’s holt answers a sending from Raven telling them of his whereabouts.
7500_ The two Holts join. Three of the trolls disappear.
7800_ Tidas and Sebree lovemate.
8000_ The elves encounter the worst whitecold season they can remember. The lake freezes so solid that it prevents them from getting to their supply of fresh fish they feed on. Combined with Tidas’ shapechanging abilities and Raven’s hunting skills, they provide enough food for the holts and get them through the winter.
8069_ Polestar born.
8350_ Skyfire storms have set ablaze the dry grasslands, killing off most of the vegetation and animals that live off it. The three trolls return.
8352_ Food has become very scarce. Raven convinces the Holts to leave the settlement. He tells them of a lush green rain forest located on the other side of the Canyon Mountains.
8353_ The holts leave the lake settlement. Three of Raven’s tribemates and one of Tidas’ decide to stay near the lake, ignoring Tidas and Raven’s pleas to go with them.
8355_ The High One Teri falls to his death after slipping and falling from a rocky cliff ledge.
8358_ The holts discover a river higher up the mountains.
8383_ Softfire born.
8400_ The Holts discover the rain forest.
8430_ Signs of elfin magic in the area are discovered.
8500_ An elfin infant and a preserver are found cocooned together near the base of several trees. Sebree takes the infant she names Sandcrest in as her own.
8520_ The skeleton of a huge flying bird is discovered in the forest.
8570_ Falconcry born.
8600_ The Towers and vast Deep are discovered. The elves learn that a group of gliders lived in the Towers centuries ago. Two preservers are discovered hiding in small catacombs higher up The Towers’ walls. The holts make their dwellings in and near The Towers.
8700_ High One Vost Recognizes High One Lork.
8702_ Daughter Koon born to Lork and Vost.
8703_ Koon dies and Lork jumps from the Towers’ waterfall with the baby in her arms. Several days later, Vost follows his lifemate’s footsteps to the edge of the waterfall and jumps. The holts call the waterfall Vost’s Tears.
8800_ A group of peaceful humans settle near the great lake.
9000_ Many of the elves from Tidas’ tribe have discovered a love for the sea and have chosen to become like the creatures of the sea. From Tidas and a few other magic users comes the first wavedancers (mer-elves).
9010_ Sebree gives OneWing fins.
9020_ Groundquakes hit the area, damaging one of The Towers.
9100_ Kaja disappears.
9200_ Raven tries to take leadership of both Holts. Raven and Tidas have a battle of wills. Raven leaves. The Treebenders and a few of Raven’s tribemates leave The Towers and cross a landbridge to several islands. A short time later, Raven returns and banishes the preservers from The Towers.
9271_ Oakroot is born.
9295_ Shaft (age 3) and tribe come to the islands via landbridge.
9300_ Cera, the last surviving High One, dies. Groundquakes occur again destroying the landbridge that connected the larger of the islands to the mainland.
9350_ During a hunting trip to the grasslands to capture more high backs, Rockshaper Temon is captured by mountain trolls. Sebree never speaks again after that and leaves The Towers to join Tidas.
9355_ First Festival of the Tide is celebrated.
9388_ Shaft and Brownbuck go hunting for Spiralhorns. While stalking a Spiralhorn, Shaft and Brownbuck get to close to a ravine’s edge and fall in, out of the reach of their tribemates. Chittersweet puts both of them in wrapstuff and vows to guard them.
9396_ Swirl born to Tanora and Soran.
9400_ Titan is born, his mother Kosa dies during childbirth. Titan’s father is an unnamed member of Raven’s holt. Tidas adopts Titan as his own son.

9500_ Humans attack and kill a small group of Ocean’s Edge elves as they fish for clearfish that float near the water’s surface.

("First Impressions" Part 3 Issue #10) A High One is discovered onboard the humans ship, later the High One turns out to be the once shapechanged Surefoot. Merle shapechanges into a human to also aid in the rescue of Surefoot. ("First Impressions" Part 3 Issue #10) Albert, a young human girl arrives at the olt. ("Portents" Issue #10)
